Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and actress from Houston, TX.  Beyonce was a part of various dancing and singing competitions through her adolescence and discovered fame as the lead singer of girl-group Destiny's Child in the 1990's.The group, managed by Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles, became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time before going on hiatus. This hiatus would become the genesis period for Beyonce's solo career, her releasing her Grammy Award-winning album debut 'Dangerously in Love' in 2003. After Destiny Child's disbandment in 2005, Beyonce found success in her following albums 'B'Day'and her alter-ego debut 'I Am... Beyonce has since portrayed a more experimental direction with her music, touching on darker themes heard on 2013's 'Beyonce' and 2016's 'Lemonade', which was released alongside a short film of the same name.
