     'A Day in the Life' is the final track on The Beatles 1967 album, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'. Written by Lennon and McCartney, it's composed of sections written separately then fused through orchestral glissandos.  The song came under fire originally in the UK and was banned for broadcast by the BBC for its supposed drug reference, though Lennon's and McCartney's lyrical inspirations fell between newspaper headlines and youthful reminiscing.
Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the song 28 on its Greatest Songs of All Time, and the number one Beatles song period on a separate list.  'A Day In The Life' seems to be a hidden gem among the best of The Beatles songs, being peculiarly favorited by a mass number of Beatles fanatics.
Lennon's handwritten lyrics for the song have even been sold several times, the largest bid reaching 1.2 million dollars.
