     AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. Though the group dub themselves 'rock and roll', their music is typically grouped into hard rock and heavy metal.  After initial formation, the band would be without most of the original lineup by the time they released their first album in 1975 titled 'High Voltage'. Through the next two album releases, 'Powerage' and 'Highway to Hell', the group would experience more lineup changes, exchanging bassists and losing lead singer Bon Scott to alcohol in 1980.  The group considered parting ways after the unwelcomed death of their vocalist, but with personal support rallied through and went on to release their next album 'Back in Black' in honor of the late Bon Scott. 'Back in Black' would propel the group to vast heights and go down in history as their greatest selling record of all time.   'For Those About to Rock We Salute You' was AC/DC's first album to reach number one in the US, setting into stone a perpetual popularity among American rock fans.  The band released four more albums over the next 25 years throughout more lineup difficulties and vast touring. From their latest effort, 2008's 'Black Ice', the group would hone their biggest hit since 'For those about to Rock', being the second-highest-selling album that year and hitting number 1 globally.  AC/DC have won a plethora of awards over their career, been ranked highly on several major 'greatest artists' lists, and as of 2016 their album 'Back in Black' is the fifth-highest-selling album of all time by any artist.  (Song Bios Copyright © 2016 J♯)
