CELINE DION - MIDI FILES - BACKING TRACKS - MIDISALE.COM
Céline Marie Claudette Dion, professionally shortened to Celine Dion, is a singer and businesswoman from Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. A teenaged Dion emerged in the French world after her manager and future husband mortgaged his home to finance her first album, a risk with a huge payoff in store. Dion's mark on the international radar was made in the 1980's when she conquered both the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in 82' and the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, representing Switzerland. After producing a string of French albums, in 1990, just two years after learning English, Dion made her US and English-speaking debut with her album 'Unison'. The album would generate her first top-ten single on the US Hot 100, 'Where Does My Heart Beat Now', peaking at number 4. Throughout the 90's Dion would experience global fame, releasing a slew of English and French albums. 1996's 'Falling Into You' and 1997's 'Let's Talk About Love' were both certified diamond in the US, and her 1995 release of 'D'eux' became the best-selling French-language album of all time thus far. At the end of the decade and peak of her success, Dion went on a hiatus to start a family. She would return to music 3 years later in 2002 to perform in the five-star theatrical show 'A New Day' for the next 5 years at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Paradise, Nevada. It became the most successful residency show of all time, grossing nearly $400 million. Presently, Dion remains the best-selling Canadian artist to date, and following the recent death of her husband released a new French album in 2016 titled 'Encore un Soir', with a personal selection of tracks containing uplifting themes.
