Chain' of Fools' is a song written by Don Covay and performed by Aretha Franklin. It was originally released as a single in 1967 but would come to appear on several of Franklin's albums.  It reached number one on the U.S. R&B Chart, and peaked at number 2 on the pop charts in 1968.  It won Franklin the Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and was listed on Rolling Stone's '500 Greatest Songs Of All Time' in 2004.
