 Coldplay are a British rock band from London, England formed in 1996 by Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland while they were attending University College London.
The band began as Pectoralz, changing it's name two more times throughout the arrangement of a full lineup until the name Coldplay was decided on in 1998.
During 1998 and 1999, the group released three EP's, 'Safety', ‘Brothers  & Sisters', and 'The Blue Room', the latter of which was their major label debut under Parlophone.  Coldplay reached international success and their first Top 40 song in 2000 with the release of 'Shiver', the lead single from their debut album, 'Parachutes'. 'Yellow', Coldplay's next single, was their first top 5 hit and paved the way for a massive fan-base and lucrative touring.  The band has won a catalog of worldwide adoration over their 7-album long career, earning over 50 awards and authoring the top selling album of the year more than once.  Coldplay's latest release, 'A Head Full Of Dreams' was released in 2015 and hit number 2 in several major markets.
