Jason Joel Desrouleaux , known professionally as Jason Derulo, is an American singer-songwriter and dancer from Miramar, Florida.
Derulo has been writing songs for huge names such as Diddy and Lil Wayne since a young age, always aspiring to be a big artist himself. In the early 2000's, Derulo attended schools such as The American Musical and Dramatic Academy to hone his talents as a singer and dancer. After winning the grand prize on the season finale of 'Showtime at the Apollo' in 2006, Derulo was discovered by music producer J.R. Rotem, who signed him to Beluga Heights Records, a subsidiary label of Warner Bros. Records. 2009's 'Whatcha Say' was Derulo's debut single; A blessing and a curse, the triple-platinum certified breakout hit became Derulo's first and only number one song. His second single, 'In My Head' debuted at number 63 on the US Hot 100. His more recent releases include 'Future History', which was preceded by the international chart-topper 'Don't Wanna Go Home', and the albums 'Tattoos' and 'Talk Dirty', the latter's eponymous single hitting number 3 on the US Hot 100.
