     Alecia Beth Moore, better known by her stage name Pink, is an American singer, dancer, actress, and recording artist born on September 8, 1979 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.  Pink started working with music in high school, her writing and behavior being described by her mother as 'worrisome' at times. Between the ages of 14 and 16 Pink joined the groups Basic Instinct and Choice, both of which disbanded for different reasons, the latter
because LaFace Records producer L.A. Reid, who had signed Choice, gave Moore the ultimatum of going solo or going home. Moore then signed as a solo artist to LaFace Records, releasing her debut album 'Can't Take Me Home' as Pink less than 2 years later.
     'Can't Take Me Home' would plummet Pink into mainstream success, spawning the two top-ten singles, "There You Go" and "Most Girls". Not long after, Pink was put to work on the 'Moulin Rouge!' soundtrack with 'Lady Marmalade', the song that would award Pink her first Grammy and number one hit on the US Hot 100.  Pink has varied her styles through each of the six albums she has released since bursting into the music industry, pushing out 7 top-ten singles in the first decade of her career, including 4 number 1 hits. In 2014, Pink released a duo album titled 'Rose Ave.' with folk musician Dallas Green under the moniker You+Me.   Pink has earned a list of impressive awards for her voice and career as a songwriter, including 3 Grammy's, 6 MTV Video Music Awards, and the BMI President's Award.
